Alessandro Baroni Kalos

Alessandro Baroni Kalos is a social designer and artist working with film and visual arts.

His main area of investigation is how individuals negotiate their position within different social contexts, particularly how they seek out, establish, and create safe spaces around themselves.

Depending on the research frame, he works through visual anthropology, as well as speculative and fictional methods. Observing, interviewing and working with social design are tools he uses to understand human behaviour and small-scale societies from a grassroots level, while fiction allows him to re-enact, experiment with and create stories in which different forms of society and ways of living can emerge, be visualised and experienced.

Originally from Italy and currently based in Berlin, Alessandro holds an MA in Social Design from Design School Kolding (2023). His practice develops through international collaborations and research across Denmark, Italy, and Germany.
